John Turnbull – identifying weapons of war criminals – Freedom Advocacy Network – September 17, 2025

Hello friends,

On September 17, 2025, we hosted John Turnball who is focusing on an initiative to identify in detail where the bombs dropping on Gaza are being manufactured. This is in hopes to activate citizens of those cities against the weapons manufacturers.

Agenda:

Can we activate the “moderate middle” in towns and cities where the weapons are produced? War Merchants is a publishing software project that takes to heart Francesca Albanese’s statement, “Gaza is a war crime and our fingerprints are all over it.” We trace backwards from murders in Gaza to the executives, owners, politicians and lobbyists who made sure the weapon was in place and loaded.

John Turnbull is a retired software executive, Freedom Flotilla mariner and life-long student of Palestine who keeps looking for cracks in the wall. Please join us — especially if you live in the Great State of Michigan, London Ontario, Repentigny Quebec, Boca Raton Florida, or anywhere else weapons are manufactured!

Notes:

  • Became aware of Palestinian cause in the 1960s
  • Married into Jewish family and then became more aware of the Palestinian cause from their perspectives as well
  • Was involved in the Flotilla Organization – but is now concerned that the initiative is losing momentum due to lack of focus on Palestinians themselves
  • Then started focusing on identifying the makers of weapons
  • Focused on Michigan where a lot of weapons sent to Israel are produced
  • Looking to focus on people in the “middle” – would like to particularly connect with people in Michigan

    • Shir Hever, Israeli himself, and team have been successful in stopping weapons shipment from Spain
  • Ted: Was in military for 20 years, with specialty in acquisition, also 20 years in foreign military sales. Totally separated from Military Industrial Complex ~15 years ago. My understanding is that 90% of munitions are shipped via ocean. Military ocean terminal in Sunny Point in North Carolina, where Ted also lives, is one of the primary shipment points in for shipments. Ted wants to know where else the weapons are being shipped from. Is planning to run for congress. He knows he won’t win, but, wants to put congress on notice. How are war criminals prosecuted? For pre-medidated murder. The only way weapons get transferred is with authority.

  • Lydia: Filing lawsuits against politicians breaking laws. Filing lawsuits related to Israel bonds. Want to connect with John to figure out exactly what Israel Bonds money is buying. Also want to know how to target specific companies for liability. For example, Palestinians are asking “who manufactured this – who can we sue for liability”. There is precedence for Palestinians suing weapons manufacturers successfully in Pensylvania
  • John: I am trying to figure out specific manufacturers. I thought it would be hard to identify – but it’s actually very easy. They brag about what they do – so they make it easy. It’s also easy to find out who finances them. A lot of it is public information. Really focused on Michigan right now.

    • Many shipments go to Spain, then go to smaller boats, and then go to Israel
    • Many of these shipments have been successfully stopped
