Hola Gaza, headed by Lorena, faced significant financial obstacles in its mission to support three families in Gaza. Traditional banking institutions and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe were reluctant to facilitate their fundraising efforts, likely due to fears of being implicated in terrorism and money laundering.

However, Lorena found an alternative in cryptocurrency, which allowed her to send money to Gaza ‘very easily’ through platforms like Binance. While it was not without its challenges, using cryptocurrency gave Hola Gaza the financial agility they needed to continue their work.

Together, they have fundraised for schools and orphanages in Gaza, conducted events for children, and even displayed Gazan children’s paintings in the Palestinian embassy in Egypt.
