Welcome to another deep-dive into the issues and conversations that matter. In this post, we’re recounting a meeting held on March 10th, 2025, where we had the honor of hosting Miko Peled, a human rights activist, author, and a prominent voice calling for justice in Palestine.

Who is Miko Peled?

Miko Peled is an Israeli in Palestine, and the author of ‘The General’s Son’. Visit his <a href=’website”>https://mikopeled.com/’>website to learn more about his work.

Miko is considered by many to be one of the clearest voices calling for justice in Palestine. He’s a strong advocate for the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) and the creation of a single democracy with equal rights in all of historic Palestine. Miko is also a contributor to several online publications and has been invited to speak all over the world. Where <a href=’he”>https://photos.app.goo.gl/2DV6b4ZsRoYs8KUJ9′>he is speaking, Miko dedicates the opportunity to advocate for the creation of one democratic state with equal rights for Israelis and Palestinians. He travels regularly to Palestine where he speaks and works with the popular resistance, the BDS movement, and other justice groups.

Palestine House of Freedom

The meeting delved into the workings of the <a href=’Palestine”>https://www.instagram.com/palestinehouseoffreedom?igsh=ZmUwcWdod2Q4NnB6&utm_source=qr’>Palestine House of Freedom, founded and led by Miko. Located strategically on Pennsylvania Avenue, just a few blocks from the Capitol, it provides a welcoming, accessible space in Washington, D.C., serving as the Washington, DC center for mobilization, strategy, and solidarity-building. The goal of this initiative is education – a massive change in discourse, particularly in Washington DC.

The Vision for a Free Palestine

Miko shared his vision for a free Palestine, rejecting the two-state solution as an impractical, ‘pie-in-the-sky’ idea. According to Miko, the only pathway to peace and justice is through dismantling the apartheid state and establishing a Palestine state free for all inhabitants. Miko also emphasized the importance of redefining the terms ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Free from river to the sea’, to prevent Zionists from defining these narratives.

Next Steps and Calls to Action

The meeting concluded with calls to action. Miko encouraged attendees to learn the facts for themselves, to be straightforward, repeat the truth over and over again, and to circumvent traditional politics. He also highlighted the importance of boycotting larger targets, such as FIFA and the Olympics, alongside smaller ones like certain food products.

It was an engaging, informative meeting, and we’re grateful to Miko and all those who joined us. We’re excited about the work ahead, and we hope you’ll join us in our commitment to justice and equality.
